To this day, the W123 and W124 are regarded as some of the most robust series-production cars ever built.

The E-Class has not earned its position through dramatic styling or record-breaking performance, but through the consistent development of one model line over more than seventy years.

Did You Know?
The name “E-Class” does not come from the word “Executive”, as many assume. The letter E originally stood for “Einspritzung” — fuel injection. In the 1960s and 1970s, Mercedes used the letter on models equipped with fuel injection, such as the 280 E. Only in 1993 did “E” become the official designation for the entire model line.
Latest Generation
Mercedes has focused on one of the E-Class’s enduring strengths — passenger comfort. The latest generation is quieter than its predecessor, offers more interior space and isolates passengers from road imperfections even more effectively. At the same time, it retains the restrained styling that has made the E-Class one of the world’s most recognisable business saloons for more than thirty years.
